September 2025 | Meeting & Tour of PRIER Products

On Tuesday, September 9, KCMN members and sponsors came together in Grandview for a morning of learning, networking, and a behind-the-scenes look at PRIER Products — a manufacturer with a proud history and an inspiring approach to growth.

The morning kicked off with coffee, breakfast, and introductions around the room, giving everyone a chance to connect with fellow members and sponsors. Following this, KCMN Executive Director Danica Rome provided updates on new members, sponsors, and upcoming events before handing the floor over to Nick Manning, President of GWBD Operations – PRIER’s parent company.

Nick walked the group through PRIER’s long-standing history, underscoring the company’s commitment to innovation and resilience. Two themes stood out:

  • Adaptability – PRIER has consistently pivoted its product lines, moving from its early beginnings with different materials and products to today’s full line of hydrants, faucets, plumbing brass, and specialty valves.
  • Strategic Growth – PRIER has expanded through acquisitions, but what makes them stand out is how they reassess, and mold acquired businesses to align with PRIER’s vision and opportunities.

From there, attendees split into groups for an hour-long tour of the manufacturing floor and machine shop, led by Nick, President, and Winston, Director of Manufacturing. The tour gave members an inside look at PRIER’s operations, where several key takeaways emerged:

  • Customer-first promises – PRIER commits to fulfilling every order within eight hours, a promise that requires precision, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Employee-driven improvements – Manufacturing employees play an active role in designing layouts, workflows, and product movement to maximize efficiency and safety.
  • Results through engagement – This collaborative culture has led to high retention rates, strong buy-in from employees, and measurable gains in efficiency.
  • Holistic investment in people – Beyond the shop floor, PRIER invests in its workforce with initiatives like savings plans, 401ks, and HR programs that support both personal and professional well-being.

The meeting highlighted how PRIER’s approach — blending adaptability, strategic thinking, and employee empowerment — drives both company success and customer satisfaction. Members walked away with valuable insights into how culture, process, and strategy align to create lasting impact.
