Kansas City Manufacturing Network (KCMN) was established in 1996 through the collaboration of two NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) organizations. Their shared goal was to create a networking association that would strengthen the manufacturing industry across the Kansas City metro area. Over time, Kansas Manufacturing Solutions (Kansas MEP - KMS), dedicated to supporting manufacturing growth in their region, has helped KCMN grow into a premier platform for manufacturers to connect, learn, and thrive.
With ongoing financial support and educational contributions from KMS, KCMN continues to evolve—enhancing its members’ businesses, advancing professional skills, and fostering a collaborative manufacturing community built on progress and shared success.
KCMN has long been a catalyst for improvement and growth among Kansas City manufacturers. By facilitating the exchange of best practices and innovative ideas, KCMN helps local companies adapt and compete in a constantly changing global economy.
Led by manufacturers for manufacturers, KCMN emphasizes peer-to-peer learning, networking, and knowledge-sharing. This collaborative approach strengthens industry resources and creates new business opportunities.
To support these goals, KCMN members, sponsors, and partners engage in a variety of programs and events, including:
Monthly Meetings and Plant Tours
Emerging Leaders Program (for manufacturing member employees, Master & Champion Sponsors, and Master Partners)
Subgroups and Working Groups
Annual Networking Event
SWOT Summit
